Icelandic Winter Adventure, February 2022.

The journey began and ended in a small charming fishing village Grundarfjordur, centrally located on the north coast of Snaefellsnes peninsula. It lies deep in a beautiful fjord surrounded by mountains with the striking Mt. Kirkjufell standing out as the majestic landmark. 

For over a  week, the group of 10 crazily devoted people heavily equipped with a tons of photo gear, fighting against the storms, extremely strong winds, rain and snow, religiously keeping an eye on all kinds of Aurora forecasting apps, ready to drive hundreds of kilometers to be able to catch “the Awe” moment, checking local restaurants, and not avoiding Vinbudins (local vine stores), we were exceptionally fortunate to experience the whole beauty of this country with it’s striking  waterfalls, glorious mountains, hypnotizing  glaciers and ice sculptures and caves, and of course magnificent Auroras.
